Description
18" (46 cm.) Wax-over-paper mache shoulderhead, blue glass spiral-threaded eyes with dark iris rims, dark eyeliner delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig, muslin stitch-jointed body, paper mache lower arms and legs, painted black ankle boots. Condition: very good, some fading of complexion, faint crazing on boots. Comments: Germany, circa 1875. Value Points: the doll is wearing original and well-preserved silk costume inspired by styles of the French poupees of the era.
