Description

18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with oval-shaped face depicting an older child, almond-shaped blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with firmly-set lips with center accent line, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, well costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 111-1. Comments: Germany, attributed to Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1912, this likely being the missing 111 model from their art character series. Value Points: the extremely rare model with compelling wistful, yet intelligent expression is enhanced by finest quality of bisque and painting, original body and body finish in especially fine state of preservation.
