11" (28 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with sculpted green military helmet above brown painted hair, blue glass side-glancing googly eyes, painted short lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, slightly parted lips in beaming smile, composition and wooden toddler body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dep Elite D 1. Comments: Max Handwerck, from his series of helmet googlies, circa 1918. Value Points: rare model with wonderful expression, impressed cheek dimples, excellent detail of helmet with finial and embossed eagle design, well detailed brown flannel uniform.
