Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, sculpted and painted facial features, deep intaglio pale blue eyes with upper-glancing expression, white eye dots, black upper eyeliner, brushstroked brows, rounded nose tip, closed mouth in beaming smile with sculpted row of teeth, outlined lips, dimpled cheeks, auburn mohair wig in coiled braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B.P.6. (incised) Geschutz S&Co. Germany (red stamp). Comments: Swaine and Co., circa 1910, from their painted eye art character series. Value Points: very rare model with very dear beguiling expression, finest bisque and painting.
