Description
22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated plump cheeks, large amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, rich mauve eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, delicately-shaded outlined lips with slightly upturned lip corners, defined space between the lips, impressed dimples in chin and philtrum, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 10 (head). Comments: Emile Jumeau, first period portrait bebe, circa 1877. Value Points: rare early doll whose rich brown eyes beautifully contrast the fine delicately blushed complexion, original early body.
