24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated plump cheeks, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading and dark iris rims, dark eyeliner, rich mauve eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, delicately-shaded outlined lips with slightly upturned lip corners, impressed dimples in chin and philtrum, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 10 (head). Comments: Emile Jumeau, first period portrait bebe, circa 1877. Value Points: exceptional beauty of the early portrait model with finest bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
