Description
5" (13 cm.) and 7". Each has solid domed bisque swivel head on bisque torso, sculpted short brown curly hair with tendrils tumbling onto the forehead, tiny brown glass sleep eyes, tinted brows, open mouth, two porcelain lower teeth, loop-jointed bisque arms and legs, painted white socks and pink one-strap shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 11 (or 17, front neck). Comments: "Bonnie Babe", designed by Georgene Averill under commission from George Borgfeldt, circa 1920. Value Points: outstanding detail of sculpture on the facial features and hair of the laughing toddler, the larger size is very rare, and the smaller doll is wearing its original costume.
