29" (74 cm.) Honey-toned wax shoulderhead turned to the side in a nestling pose, very full cheeks and shoulderplate, amber brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, brunette rooted hair, muslin stitch-jointed body with paper mache lower arms and legs, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, small repair of wax on back shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1880. Value Points: very rare brown glass eyes to be found on wax doll, and its luxury size indicate the likelihood of a special portrait commission during its production.
