Description
18" (46 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead of lady with oval face and elongated throat, black sculpted hair in center part with well-detailed arranged curls tumbling onto each shoulder and then drawn back into tightly-coiled braided chignon held by modeled barrette, painted blue eyes in well-defined eye sockets, black single stroke brows and upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, slender kid body, kid wooden lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent, original finish, sturdy body, craquelure on back shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: exceptional detail of hair details, original finish, original costume.
