Description
17" (43 cm.) l. The slightly-domed wooden trunk with patterned exterior, wooden slats and brass-toned tin corners and lock plate, has working key, metal hands, and an interior fitted with illustrative designs of frolicking Pierrot figures. There is a matching lift-out tray, and on the inside cover is a black and white illustration for "Bebe Jumeau" wearing an original Jumeau flowered chemise. The trunk was likely offered as a special presentation along with a bebe by a Paris department store in their holiday catalog. Excellent condition. French, circa 1895.
