Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, long painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, early composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5. Comments: Sonneberg, mystery maker, circa 1882, the doll closely resembles early French bebe whose market it sought to capture. Value Points: very dear shy expression is beautifully enhanced by lovely painting.
