Description
19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, very dark eyeliner encircles the deeply set eye sockets, painted long curly lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, thick brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, lovely antique costume, leather boots, woven bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, small flake at pierced ear hole. Marks: FR 8. Comments: Falck-Roussel who listed his trade name doll Bebe Mignon in 1885, and in 1888 was awarded the silver medal at the Melbourne World Fair. Value Points: the rarely found doll with distinctive expression has choice bisque, complexion and painting, original body and body finish.
