Description
25" (64 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead with delicate rosy complexion, posed turned demurely to the side, blue glass inset eyes, incised eyeliner with tinted detail, tinted brows, nostril accents and lips of closed mouth, separately-inserted long brunette hair, softly-stuffed stitch-jointed muslin body attached by brass grommet sew holes on shoulderplate, rose-tinted poured wax arms to above elbows and poured wax lower legs. Condition: generally excellent, one left finger restored, restoration of upper back of wax right arm. Comments: English, attributed to Montanari, circa 1875. Value Points: an especially beautiful wax doll with lovely complexion, original body, wearing splendid original gown of turquoise blue and ivory silk with lace trim, matching woven bonnet, undergarments.
