Description
8 1/2" (22 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque torso, brown glass eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, two square-cut upper teeth and one lower, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig, peg-jointed bisque arms and legs, arms modeled bent at elbows, cupped fingers, shapely legs with tiny ankles, painted white ribbed stockings to knees, black six lace heeled ankle boots, antique undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, tiny flake at right leg stringing hole. Marks: 102 1. Comments: Germany, circa 1880, the doll is referred to as "French Wrestler" indicating its well-modeled muscular body. Value Points: beautiful doll notable for outstanding painting of facial features and wonderfully-sculpted body.
