Description
8 1/2" (22 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with sculpted hair and cap, tinted facial features, painted ribbons at the neck, lace wrapped shawl and overskirt, kid body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted black boots. Condition: hairline is original albeit very faded on face, fortunes intact. Comments: Germany, circa 1850, for the English market. Value Points: with several hundred original folded paper fortunes ranging from "Look before you leap" to "You will marry your 3rd partner on the day you commence your 73 birthday".
