Description
26" (66 cm.) Wax-over-paper mache shoulderhead, black enamel inset eyes, tinted brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with hint of smile, brunette human hair arranged from center slit in crown, long ringlet curls, firmly-stuffed muslin body with wax over paper mache arms and legs. Condition: structurally excellent, facial complexion is original albeit rubbed and with light craquelure. Comments: England, circa 1865. Value Points: very beautiful and well-preserved original costume of fine muslin with pleated blue silk ruffles, silk sash and streamers, neck ruffle, original matching bonnet, undergarments, socks and shoes.
