Description
18" (46 cm.) Wax-over-rose-tinted paper mache shoulderhead, blue glass sleep eyes, painted brows, eye dots and nostril accents, closed mouth with center accent line, original blonde mohair wig in elaborately curled and braided coiffure, muslin stitch-jointed body with wax-over-paper mache hands, and paper mache feet with painted fancy brown heeled boots. Condition: generally excellent, some typical rubs and fading of complexion, gown has some aging. Comments: Germany, attributed to Barbara Schilling, circa 1875. Value Points: the elegantly coiffed hair is enhanced further by original aqua silk fashion gown with tassel and pleated tulle trim.
