12" (30 cm.) All-wooden doll with one-piece carved wooden head and block torso, painted black hair with shaded scalloped curls framing the fame, painted blue eyes, tiny nose and mouth, blush spots on cheeks, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, simplistically carved body and limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, late 1800s. Value Points: original finish is well preserved, the doll is wearing early costume of silk twill and black lace along with matching coiffe.
