Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, dramatic blue glass paperweight inset eyes of great depth, dark eyeliner, short curly painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, lovely antique costume, shoes signed "Bebe Jumeau". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 7 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, unusual number mark on head indicates early transitional era production. Value Points: very dear gentle-faced early bebe with splendid eyes, lovely bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
