10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly painted lashes, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, lovely vintage style silk costume, antique shoes signed L.D. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. 1 D. Comments: Jumeau, circa 1890, the bebe bears the initials of the Jumeau foreman, Douillet, and is the only Jumeau doll with signature markings of a Jumeau colleague indicating the respect bestowed upon the long-time member of the firm. Value Points: very rare marked Jumeau bebe is enhanced further by its very fine quality of bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
