Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly painted lashes, widely brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B. 5 F. Comments: Bebe Francais, circa 1892, this new model was created by Jumeau after winning the rights to the trademark name in his lawsuit with Danel & Cie; the model was created at the same time as Jumeau was designing his 200 character series, and this face later became the 225 model. Value Points: rare character-face bebe model with lovely bisque and painting, original body and body finish, antique costume.
