Description
23" (58 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead of adult lady with oval face and elongated throat, blonde sculpted hair in elaborately arranged curls at her crown, with tumbling curls at the back of head, and two little curls onto her forehead, decorated with blue decorative beaded comb with coral accent, fully-sculpted pierced ears, painted blue eyes in deeply-set sockets, black and red upper eyeliner, single stroke brown brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, commercial muslin body with paper mache lower limbs having painted yellow gloves and fancily-painted orange boots with black tips, lovely antique costume and undergarments, orange woven purse with silver frame. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 24 (deeply incised on shoulders). Comments: Germany, circa 1875, the yellow-glove body attributed to Dressel and Kister. Value Points: fabulous and rare coiffure with beautifully contrasting eyes, rare painted gloves on original body.
