26" (66 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with elongated slender throat, oval shaped face, black sculpted hair in elaborate arrangement, four horizontal curls at each side of face flanking an elaborate topknot of four rows of coiled braids, painted brown eyes, black feathered brows, closed mouth, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted flat shoes. Condition: very good, original finish, some craquelure on shoulders. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare large size lady with extravagant coiffure, original costume.
