12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted facial features, small downcast blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, closed mouth with center accent line, brunette mohair braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Deponiert F.S. & C 1263/30 Germany. Comments: Franz Schmidt, circa 1910 from the firm's rare art character reform series. Value Points: few examples of the rare model are known to exist, this doll with especially pleasing bisque, compelling expression of a thoughtful child, original body and body finish, and with original wig, costume, undergarments and shoes.
