Description
11" (28 cm.) Firmly-stuffed velvet mouse in standing pose, cream velvet face with embroidered wide smiling mouth, black velvet nose and black shoe-button eyes, stitched-on black felt ears, oversized hands and feet with red felt four-finger gloves and ankle shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Knickerbocker Toy Co., New York Ignatz Mouse Trademark (stamp on foot). Comments: Knickerbocker, circa 1930s, the character was based on the original comic strips of cartoonist George Herriman which first appeared in 1913 and remained a standard in both strips and animated film through the 1940s. Value Points: rarely found character is wonderfully-preserved.
