Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, small brown glass sleep eyes, painted long curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils of upturned rounded nose, closed mouth with slightly downcast pensive lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wearing wonderful Tyrolean costume including suede lederhosen. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D made in Germany 212 (head) Germany (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1910, the rare model was made with painted or glass eyes. Value Points: the model is virtually never found, this example with very fine bisque and expression, original signed body and body finish.
