Description
13" (33 cm.) All-wooden doll with unusual elongated modeling, one-piece torso and egg-shaped head with long slender throat, painted black hair with spiraled curls framing her forehead and a carved gilt-edged tuck comb at her crown, high domed forehead, tiny carved nose and ears with pierced earring holes into head, painted features, all wooden body with articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, tiny painted red shoes, wearing early lace high-waisted dress. Condition: structurally excellent, painted finish is original with typical age rubs. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1830. Value Points: distinctive slender carving, well-preserved coiffure, all-original parts.
