Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with shapely torso and legs, one-piece kid arms in uniquely-constructed bent pose to hold the mandolin. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880. Value Points: pristine all-original condition with ornately-arranged coiffure that perfectly matches her brows, beautiful expression, near mint body with unusual construction of bent elbows to hold wooden mandolin, and exuberant silk costume with gold coins trim, black lace, silk flowers, lace coiffe, and original Jumeau shoes with bee symbol marked Paris Depose 3.
