Description
25" (64 cm.) overall l. 11" wagon box. A brown flannel-covered horse with black shoe-button eyes, and leather harness, mounted on metal wheeled wooden base is pulling a wooden milk cart with red spoked wheels, and original yellow painted finish with gold, red and black stenciled designs and lettering for Fairfield Western Maryland Dairy, and offering cream and buttermilk. An amusing design appears on the back wall depicting an eager little child crawling toward a bottle of milk. Included is the wooden Driver wearing original blue denim costume, and a wooden crate with twelve wooden milk bottles. Condition: the wagon is excellent with well-preserved original finish except rubs on wheels; Driver and milk crate are excellent, horse and harness are worn. Comments: American, Schoenhut, 1929-1933, the Fairfield Dairy was a Baltimore, Maryland enterprise. Value Points: rare wagon with wonderful designs and accessories.
