17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head and kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden poupee body with very shapely torso, dowel-articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1870, the doll is perfectly-preserved, presented with her original trousseau stored in a box hand-labeled "Regine Affairs Personnelle" and owns six original gowns, two capes, five bonnets or caps, and an assortment of undergarments, aprons, and sundries, along with various jewelry and accessories. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque, rare articulated wooden poupee body, with extensive trousseau and accessories. The doll is featured on the cover of The Panorama of Parisienne Dolls by Danielle and Francois Theimer which is included with the doll.
