All carved wooden doll, socket head with very full cheeks punctuated by deeply carved dimples, intaglio carved brown eyes, black upper eyeliner, white eye dots, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with broad smile framed by carved laughter lines, row of carved teeth between the accented lips, tacked-on mohair wig, all-wooden spring-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, original finish with ding in left cheek, wig sparse. Marks: Schoenhut Doll. Pat. Jan. 17, '11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, their model 303, circa 1912. Value Points: wonderful laughing expression on the rarely found model with carved teeth, dear smile, especially remarkable in this large size.
