Description
22" (56 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, plump cheeks and throat, small blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading and pronounced black pupils, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, rose-blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, French kid bebe body with plump limbs, gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque lower arms and hands, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, left forefinger restored, body especially sturdy and clean. Marks: 7 (left shoulder). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his premiere bebe known as Bebe Brevete, circa 1878. Value Points: beautiful gentle-faced bebe with lovely bisque and painting, original body.
