Description
19" (48 cm.) l. overall. 9 1/2"h. x 6"w. The wooden wagon with cut-outs at sides and back has original black painted finish which is richly decorated with Sheffield Farms lettering on both sides and the roof and with "certified milk" and "grade A milk" on the front and back, with slatted wooden interior floor, metal step down, and wooden wheels with painted spokes and is being pulled by a wooden flat-dimensional horse with hinged legs and painted harness, attached to wooden pulls. Along with unusual metal milk carrier and six glass milk bottles with raised lettering of Sheffield. Describing itself as "the National Dairy Milk" the firm was actually located at 524 W. 57th Street and was one of largest milk suppliers in New York City. Excellent condition. Circa 1925.
