Description
12" (30 cm.) Amber-tinted bisque socket head of cheerful child, brown glass sleep eyes in half moon shape, black painted curly lashes, black brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, shaded and outlined lips, two porcelain upper teeth, black mohair bobbed wig with long attached queue, amber-tinted composition body, silk costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F made in Germany 10 JDK 243. Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, the doll was presented by the Gump's Department Store of San Francisco in original costume created in their workshops. Value Points: rare portrait model of Chinese baby with finest amber-tinted complexion, original wig, original body and body finish, and wearing elaborate original silk costume including bead and tassel trimmed cap from Gump's. $1800/2300
