16" (41 cm.) Carved wooden socket head, brown sculpted hair in short boyish fashion with forelock curl, intaglio carved painted brown eyes with white eye dots, short stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, all-wooden spring-jointed body. Condition: very good, original finish with some rubs on face and hair. Marks: Schoenhut Doll Pat. Jan.17,11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, model 204 from the classics dolls series, circa 1912. Value Points: rare early carved hair model with fine carving and endearing expression, wearing original sailor costume and shoes, and with original Schoenhut metal stand.
