Description
18" (46 cm.) Black-complexioned bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, very dark brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips, black fleecy wig, kid gusset-jointed body, black bisque lower arms, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, paint rubs at back of head under wig. Marks: S 8 H 949 (head) S 8 H 941 (shoulderplate). Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: rarity factors include original head and shoulderplate, closed mouth, and beautiful flawless ebony black facial complexion.
