Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes with darker iris rims, dark eyeliner, short painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee torso with square-cut collarette and kid gusset-jointed legs, wooden arms with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows and wrists. Condition: small chip at front left shoulder, tiny repair at right earring lobe hole, otherwise excellent, body especially fine. Marks: E (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, the head model was deposed by Bru in that year. Value Points: elegant lady with original head and rare body, wearing beautiful antique silk costume and accessories.
