Description
14" (36 cm.) Paper mache socket head, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented eye corners, closed mouth modeled as though slightly-parted lips, two painted upper teeth, pierced teeth, blonde mohair wig, French paper mache body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1885, attributed to Leon Casimir Bru. Value Points: an especially lovely doll, original painted finish with luminous patina, spiral threaded eyes, original body and body finish, antique costume.
