Description
13" (33 cm.) doll. 22" x 14" armoire. The wooden armoire with ogee-shaped arched crest features paneled double doors with ornate brass hardware, and lower drawer; the cabinet is fitted with antique linens tied with rose silk ribbons, and antique bebe undergarments are originally-pinned to the inside of doors. Standing in a fitted cubicle of the armoire is a bisque head doll with blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, row of tiny porcelain teeth, brunette human hair wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, original costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (anchor mark) 1 France. Comments: for the French market, the fitted armoire appeared in Paris Etrennes catalogs of the era, circa 1910. Value Points: fine cabinetry work of the armoire enhanced by its fitted contents.
