Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointing at hips and elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1 (head) 1 F.G. (shoulders). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1875. Value Points: beautiful all-original condition of the petite poupee in authentic original Parisian costume depicting a Normandy nanny including silk and lace coiffe, turquoise earrings, tacked-on leather shoes incised "1", and burgundy woolen gown and matching cape.
