18" (46 cm.) All hard plastic with socket head, five-piece body, brunette mohair wig with bangs and side-looped braids, blue sleep eyes, real lashes, closed mouth. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Alexander, 1948, the firm had earlier created composition dolls depicting Margaret O'Brien the child star; this hard plastic example marks the firm's clear transition to the "new" medium of plastic. Value Points: rare version of the celebrity doll, wearing original costume tagged "Margaret O'Brien Madame Alexander New York" and is in pristine condition.
