Description
6" (15 cm.) One-piece bisque head and torso with oversized head and bald pate, painted round eyes with black pupils and upper eyeliner, unusually painted blue irises fill the entire eyes, rosy button-shaped nose, inverted V-shaped lips, sculpted white smock, jointed bisque arms and legs, sculpted blue slippers with ribbons. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, designed by the American illustrator Charles Twelvetrees, circa 1920s. Value Points: especially fine detail of blush on plump cheeks, hands and knees.
