Description
19" (48 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted complexion and facial features, two chin seams, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips, brunette mohair bobbed wig, firmly-stuffed muslin body with stitch-jointing. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kamkins, A Dolly Made in Love, Patented by L.R. Kampes, Atlantic City, N.J. (lower torso). Comments: Louis Kampes, who presented dolls from his studio in Atlantic City, marketed as "Kamkins", circa 1930; the dolls were presented with stylish children costumes which were also offered separately. Value Points: fine original finish on the signed model, wearing original costume.
