24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump lower cheeks, large dark blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with extended length between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, straight wrists, lovely silk costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 12 (raised). Comments: French,circa 1885, attributed to Joanny. Value Points: rare bebe with wonderful characterization, fine quality of bisque, original body finish, and wearing beautiful patterned velvet antique costume with lace trim, bonnet, undergarments, stockings,and shoes.
