8" (20 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with painted brown hair having pronounced topknot and side curls, painted facial features, side-glancing blue googly eyes with impish expression, curvy brows, rounded nose, closed mouth with watermelon-slice shaped smile, five-piece composition body with antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 32-12/0. Comments: Recknagel, circa 1920, the figure depicts Moritz as he appeared in the Katzenjammer Kids comic strip, popular at the time, and originally inspired by the 19th century books by Wilhelm Busch. Value Points: rare model with especially fine modeling for its size, great characterization.
