15" (38 cm.) Each is firmly-stuffed black cotton with rounded facial shape, with flat-dimensional face except pronounced stitched-on nose, button eyes, unusual stitched-on leather mouth with center accent line, stitch-jointed arms and legs, black furry wig. Condition: generally excellent, some wear on mouth. Comments: American folk art, late 1800s. Value Points: the matched brother and sister pair, although made in the same manner, have distinctive expressions, and each is wearing original red cotton costume.
