27" (69 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, large brown glass enamel inset eyes, thick eyeliner, dark painted lashes, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with modeled space and well-defined tongue tip between the shaded lips, defined philtrum and dimpled chin, pierced ears, brunette extended-length mohair, kid body with scalloped collarette and gusset-jointed legs, hinged kid-over-wooden upper arms, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent, faint hairline on backside of left arm, body is excellent and very sturdy with few patches at hip joints. Marks: Bru Jne 10 (head) Bru Jne N.10 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1884. Value Points: outstanding sculpting and quality of bisque, finest painting of features and complexion, very sturdy original body and wearing outstanding (likely original) silk costume and bonnet, undergarments, Bru stockings and signed Bru shoes.
