Description
18" (46 cm.) All wooden doll with one-piece carved head and torso, oval-shaped head with elongated throat, very large enamel glass inset eyes, tiny dot-painted lashes and brows, well shaped nose, firmly shaped lips of closed mouth, modeled bosom, remains of original brunette hair wig, cloth upper arms, wooden lower arms, wooden legs with jointing at hips and knees. Condition: very good, original finish with some darkening, lower arms not original. Comments: English, early 18th century. Value Points: gentle presence attains personality with grand size of eyes, fine original blush on cheeks, and wearing (frail) original costume including wonderful early quilted petticoat, silk shoes, cap and with early pincushion ball on chain.
