Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead depicting young man with black complexion, enamel eyes, black painted brows and sculpted tightly-curled hair, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden arms and legs, painted green stockings, red boots with yellow edging, wearing original costume comprising white cotton shirt under coral silk tunic, embroidered lined vest, short harem pants, red silk jacket with metallic edging, and draped turban. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: exceptional sculpting and most artistic painting of complexion and features.
