Description
8" (20 cm.) The carved wooden figure of a man with carved painted costume, bare feet, sculpted hair, is posed upon a wooden platform, with wooden peddler basket attached to his back, in which is preserved a little wooden doll head. When the basket is pushed forward and back, the man's mouth opens and closes as though "peddling". Excellent condition. Germany, early 1800s.
